      Public assistance needed to find missing teen

      THE Erongo police needs the public's assistance to trace 17-year-old Whitley Beukes, from Walvis Bay.

      According sergeant Anastasia Frans from the Erongo police, Beukes travelled to Windhoek from Walvis Bay on 15 December.

      She was expected to return to Walvis Bay with a friend on 7 January.

      The friend told Beukes' family and police that they separated in Windhoek on 7 January.

      The teen speaks Afrikaans, and her phone has been switched off.

      Anyone with information on her whereabouts, or Beukes herself, is urged to contact detective chief inspector Moses Uwu-Khaeb at 081 321 4978, investigating officer warrant Johannes Sinoya at 081 719 0643, or the nearest police station.
