A 28-YEAR-OLD police officer was arrested after allegedly shooting another police officer at a bar in Katutura on Friday night.

Khomas regional police commander commissioner Ismael Basson said both officers are members of the Wanaheda Police Station.

The deceased has been identified as sergeant Nestor Usebui. He was declared dead by paramedics at 00h44.

“Investigations found that a quarrel erupted, and led to the shooting. Information is sketchy. The suspect used a service firearm, and there was only one firearm used.”

Basson said the deceased's next of kin have been informed, and police investigations continue.
