      Chinese nationals robbed at Swakopmund

      Four Chinese Nationals employed at Husab mine have allegedly been robbed and attacked with pangas by three men at Swakopmund.

      The victims have been robbed of their backpacks containing clothing and N$55 150 in cash.

      The robbers allegedly sped off to Mondesa while being chased by police officers and a security company.

      In the process, they drove into a shack at Mondesa.

      The owner of the shack got injured and was taken to hospital.

      The driver was arrested, while the other suspects fled.

      N$49 150 and all other stolen items have been recovered.

      The victims opted not to open a case against the perpetrators, although advised to do so.

      A case of reckless and negligent driving has been registered.

      The police calls upon the public to assist with providing information that could lead to the arrest of the other suspects.
